Interview with Tomáš Homola, laureate of the Masaryk University Innovation Award

Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Tomáš Homola PhD. from the Department of Physical Electronics received a new award called MUNI Innovation Award. He was rewarded for his innovative scientific research in the field of plasma applications for modification of printed electronics and its successful transfer to industry.

New team members

Since January, our team has been strengthened by Mgr. Dana Skácelová, who has returned after maternity leave and will continue in her previous scientific activities. Since February, a new colleague, Mgr. Mária Kováčová, PhD., came to our research group. She will focus on the preparation and characterization of carbon nanomaterials, graphene oxide and nanocomposites, as well as the preparation of antibacterial polymer composite materials using plasma technologies.

Open Doors Day 2022

Article in the journal Applied Materials Today

This year, our colleague Richard Krumpolec and the team of co-authors from the University of Pardubice and CEITEC BUT managed to publish an article in the journal Applied Materials Today with an impact factor of 10.041. The research deals with the preparation of nanolayers using ALD, specifically 2D MoTe2 nanosheets by atomic layer deposition: Excellent photo-electrocatalytic properties. Congratulations to an extraordinary publication!

Gold medal of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University

On Friday, November 19, the Dean of the Faculty of Science awarded Assoc. Prof. Dušan Kováčik with the Gold medal of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University. Associate Professor Kováčik has been working at the Department of Physical Electronics since 2011, where he is engaged in research and development of atmospheric sources of low-temperature plasma based on dielectric barrier discharges and their potential application.

MUNI Innovation Award 2021

Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola obtained the MUNI Innovation Award for the application of plasma treatments of nanostructured surfaces in the field of flexible and printed electronics and the use of plasma for the production of large printed solar cells, which resulted in the development of plasma technology and its successful implementation in the production line for flexible perovskite solar cells in a foreign company Saule Technologies. Congratulations!
