Proof of Concept conference
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, we participated in the Proof of Concept (PoC) conference organised by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of Masaryk University. Dr. David Pavliňák presented the project dealing with plasma-assisted treatment of nanofibers for filtration purposes in the form of a short lecture. Two other projects regarding the optimisation of plasma treatment of packaging materials used in the meat industry; and plasma modification of aerogels based on reduced graphene oxide were presented as posters. The event featured several lectures on implemented PoC projects in various fields across Masaryk University, and an interesting panel discussion took place. A total of 78 PoC projects have been carried out at MU so far, of which seven projects were solved by scientists from our research group; see their list below. PoC projects play an essential role in commercialising research results and their transfer into practice. We hope that it will be possible to apply for projects of this type in the future.

A weeklong testing of plasma treatment in company Nano Medical
Researchers from the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplicatons research group, Dr. Jakub Kelar and Dr. Oleksandr Galmiz, spent an experimental week at Nano Medical in Liberec. As part of the new OP TAK project, they focused on testing in-line plasma surface modification of substrate materials to enhance the adhesion of nanofibers produced by electrospinning.
