Workshop on GRAPHENE

Our colleague, dr. Richard Krumpolec, will give a lecture at the workshop Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Synthesis of Graphene and its Derivates and their Applications organized on June 14, 2022 by the CEPLANT center in classroom F1. Not only the results of research at DPE will be presented on the workshop, but also you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of colleagues from the University of Córdoba under the leadership of prof. Calzado from Plasma Innovation Laboratory.

Start Your Business

Does lean canvas, market research or cash flow tell you anything? Students who want to move their idea closer to implementation and get money to develop their own business had to deal with these concepts. This is the Start Your Business competition organized by the MU Technology Transfer Center in cooperation with the South Moravian Innovation Center. František Zelenák, a doctoral student from our group, is also taking part. He managed to advance to the finals, keep your fingers crossed!

In the week from 9th to 13th of May 2022, the Department of Physical Electronics (DPE) organises special excursions to its laboratories for bachelor students of all years and study fields related to physics. Come and have a look and maybe choose the topic of your thesis. Our research group will offer the following three topics, including practical demonstrations.

Proof of Concept conference

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, we participated in the Proof of Concept conference organised by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of Masaryk University. One project was presented in the form of a short lecture. Two other projects were presented in the form of posters. The event featured several lectures on implemented PoC projects in fields across Masaryk University, and an interesting panel discussion took place.

Interview with Tomáš Homola, laureate of the Masaryk University Innovation Award

Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Tomáš Homola PhD. from the Department of Physical Electronics received a new award called MUNI Innovation Award. He was rewarded for his innovative scientific research in the field of plasma applications for modification of printed electronics and its successful transfer to industry.

New team members

Since January, our team has been strengthened by Mgr. Dana Skácelová, who has returned after maternity leave and will continue in her previous scientific activities. Since February, a new colleague, Mgr. Mária Kováčová, PhD., came to our research group. She will focus on the preparation and characterization of carbon nanomaterials, graphene oxide and nanocomposites, as well as the preparation of antibacterial polymer composite materials using plasma technologies.
