European Corrosion Congress – EUROCORR 2025

Pedram Ghourghi Beigi, our PhD candidate, attended the European Corrosion Congress 2025 in Norway. He presented his work on novel atmospheric-pressure plasma curing of anti-corrosion silicon-based coatings by oral and poster presentation, which sparked many fruitful discussions with fellow researchers.

Plasma Chemical experiments by Vladimíra Hudáka in his SOČ project

Vladimír Hudák, a student from the Jozef Miloslav Hurban Highschool in Čadca (Slovakia), joined research in our group. As part of his high school research project (SOČ), he is working under the guidance of Dr. Richard Krumpolec and František Zelenák on purifying food dye solutions using plasma-reduced graphene oxide – a technology with promising applications in sustainability and environmental protection.

CEPLANT at MMS 2025 conference in Tále

Dr. Richard Krumpolec from the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology represented the CEPLANT center and the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group at the 30th International Conference MMS 2025 in Tále, Slovakia. He delivered a presentation on advanced atmospheric plasma technologies and showcased CEPLANT’s research focused on surface modification of materials.

Dávid Brodňanský at Summer School in Finland

Dávid Brodňanský, a recent graduate of Bachelor's program Nanotechnology, took part in an advanced summer course at the University of Jyväskylä focused on quantum-inspired algorithms and quantum computing. From lectures to hands-on coding, he explored simulation techniques used in chemistry and materials science.

Strengthening scientific ties with Taiwan

Masaryk unversity welcomed a distinguished delegation from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), world's largest semiconductor foundry. This visit marks another important step in building a robust international partnership in the field of plasma physics and thin films for advancing the field of semiconductors.

PLASMAScience Summer School 2025

Our PhD students František Zažímal and Areej Fatima were selected to attend the PLASMAScience Summer School held from 22 to 28 June 2025 on the Porquerolles Island, France. Students participation was fully funded, recognizing their academic excellence and potential in plasma science.

PhD Student Jiří Fujera on Research Stay at MIT

Jiří Fujera,our PhD student under the supervision of Associate Professor Tomáš Homola, specializing in low-temperature plasma physics. During his research stay at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he is conducting experiments focused on electro-optical plasma diagnostics. Preparation of new experiments for PlasmaMix-BioMat project

As part of the PlasmaMix-BioMat project, Dr. Zlata Kelar Tučeková, along with her student Martin Karkuš, welcomed slovenian colleague Sebastian Dahle. The aim of the current visit is to evaluate results so-far and create a plan of experiments and prepare the experimental device for a an research stay of Martin Karkuš, who will carry out his experiments on a month-long internship in Ljubljana.
