The kickoff meeting with researchers from HAWK

Dr. Kelar Tučeková and dr. Kelar visited HAWK Hochschule, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Göttingen, Germany. CEPLANT and HAWK researchers are starting joint research on the functionalization of fibers and Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy diagnostics within a MOBILITY project between Czech and German partners.

We invite you to the exhibition presenting the research of the CEPLANT center, which is an integral part of our workplace. The exhibition presents not only research activities, but also the multidisciplinarity and scope of the application potential of plasma. You can view the exhibition in the building of the dean's office of the Faculty of Science in the Kotlářská 2 area until the end of July 2023.

Business Research Forum 2023

The CEPLANT center represented by the members of our research group participated in the Business Research Forum 2023 at CEITEC Brno organized by Masaryk University. CEPLANT current research topics were presented in the individual stands, in the event catalogue and by František Zelenák oral presentation.

A visit from FPT in Púchov within the OPEN ACCESS of the Ceplant center

Our colleagues welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Púchov (FPT) as a part of the open access activities of the Ceplant center at the end of March. We were visited by its dean, Prof. Darina Ondrušová, together with the head of the Department of Materials Technologies and Environment, Prof. Mariana Pajtášová and PhD student Ing. Silvia Ďurišová.

An internship abroad is a priceless experience

PhD students Július Vida and František Zažímal are connected not only by a common supervisor, doc. Tomáš Homola, and the same office, but also the fact that they recently completed an internship abroad. In addition, they both chose a research institutions with which cooperation was newly established, so they did not have a "trodden path" but, on the contrary, a chance to build new contacts and make themselves known.

Brno Ph.D. Talent 2023

Doctoral student František Zelenák successfully defended the project as a part of the Brno Ph.D. Talent scholarship competition. The project deals with graphene with the aim of bringing innovation in its production and functionalization that it can be applied in industry. Congratulations and we wish him much success in his scientific work!

Visit from Joanneum Research

Last week, we had a visit from the Austrian research organization Joanneum Research, with whom we cooperate in the mobility project Superhydrophobic surfaces created by atmospheric plasma. The principal investigator from MU is Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola and his doctoral students, Mgr. Július Vida and Mgr. František Zažímal, are also involved in it.

PhD Defense

Our colleague, Michal Pazderka, successfully defended his dissertation at the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics on Tuesday 7.3.2023. This only proves his wide scope from theoretical calculations, through experimental research in plasma physics to his manual skills, which he uses in the construction of apparatus.
