Use of plasma for composites in the aerospace industry

Even in the hot summer, scientists are not idle, but devote themselves to research and establishing new collaborations. Last week, 4 of our colleagues spent experimental work at the Research Institute for Aircraft Design (IFB) of the University of Stuttgart. The aim was to test the beneficial effect of plasma on various modern composite materials used in the aviation industry.

The end of academic year

At the end of the semester, the state doctoral exams were held for three of our doctoral students and they passed them successfully. Several students successfully defended their bachelor thesis under the guidance of supervisors from our group. We said goodbye to Dr. Majka Kováčová, who completed her postdoc at MU in Brno. And we ended the academic year informally with teambuilding at the Brno dam. The PNB Group wishes you a beautiful summer!

CPPA 2023 Young Researcher Oral Presentation Prize

Our PhD student Jianyu Feng won the Young Scientist Award last week for his oral presentation at the XX. International Conference on Plasma Physics and Applications (CPPA 2023) in Romania. The title of the lecture was Temperature-friendly remote atmospheric plasma source for plasma activation of materials. Congratulations!

Glass Performance Days Finland

Presentation of results obtained during the TAČR TREND project solved in cooperation with the companies OGB s.r.o. and Ikates s.r.o. took charge of doc. Kováčik and Dr. Krumpolec in Nokia Arena in Finland. Their lectures at the Glass Performance Days generated significant interest of several glass manufacturers in cooperation in the field of plasma technologies developed at our workplace.

The kickoff meeting with researchers from HAWK

Dr. Kelar Tučeková and dr. Kelar visited HAWK Hochschule, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Göttingen, Germany. CEPLANT and HAWK researchers are starting joint research on the functionalization of fibers and Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy diagnostics within a MOBILITY project between Czech and German partners.
