Visit from Joanneum Research

As part of the international project Superhydrophobic surfaces created by atmospheric plasma (8J22AT002) funded by the MOBILITY program of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the CR, scientists from the Austrian research organization Joanneum Research visited us last week, BSc. Carina Hendler DI, BSc. Simon Chwatal MSc, Mag. Dr. Alexander Michael Schwan and Dr. Reinhard Kaindl. During their stay at DPE, plasma methods for the deposition of polymer layers using new methods and detailed characterization of these layers were tested. For plasma generation, the so-called diffuse coplanar surface barrier discharge was used for post-treatment of sol-gel layers. The principal investigator from MU is Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola and his doctoral students, Mgr. Július Vida and Mgr. František Zažímal, are also involved in it. The cooperation of the workplaces created suitable conditions for the involvement of students, and we plan to publish the results in the form of an article in an international journal in 2023.
