Our colleagues welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Púchov (FPT), Trenčianskej univerzity Alexandra Dubčeka v Trenčíne, as a part of the open access activities of the Ceplant center at the end of March. We were visited by its dean, prof. Darina Ondrušová, together with the head of the Department of Materials Technologies and Environment, prof. Mariana Pajtášová and PhD student Ing. Silvia Ďurišová. The aim of the visit was plasma treatment of non-vulcanized rubber and XPS analysis of samples treated in this way. In addition to the experiments, there was also time for an excursion to the laboratories of electron spectroscopy and SIMS and MALDI mass techniques.
We hope that the results of the experiments will be beneficial and we will continue the cooperation we have started. We are pleased that we could help colleagues from FPT in Púchov in their research within the OPEN ACCESS mode of the Ceplant center. At the beginning of April, the Day with ERC, an event for junior researchers took place. The aim of the discussion meeting for junior scientists is networking. Dr. Jakub Kelar from the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology was nominated as a representative from the Faculty of Science.
Prof. Christoph Gerhard and his colleagues visited their project partners at the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and the CEPLANT Centre in the second week of April 2024. Scientists from the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/ Holzminden/ Göttingen and our research group are working together on the functionalization of fibers.
