Visit from the Nanize company

At the beginning of October, Dr. Kingsley Iwu from Nanize (Narvik, Norway) visited our laboratory. We have been cooperating with the Nanize company since 2020 within the contract research, which concerns the preparation of durable anti-fouling and anti-soiling surfaces. The aim of this research is to develop layers that can be used, for example, as anti-graffiti coatings.

Anna Podmanická's achievement at Regeneron ISEF 2025 Global Science Fair

Anna Podmanická, a gifted student from Gymnázium Jura Hronca, secured 4th place at the prestigious Regeneron ISEF 2025 finals in Ohio, USA. Her project on wastewater purification impressed the expert jury and earned her a special award from the King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity. The success of the Slovak AMAVET delegation at this competition was further highlighted by Adam Kovalčík’s overall victory.

A weeklong testing of plasma treatment in company Nano Medical

Researchers from the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplicatons research group, Dr. Jakub Kelar and Dr. Oleksandr Galmiz, spent an experimental week at Nano Medical in Liberec. As part of the new OP TAK project, they focused on testing in-line plasma surface modification of substrate materials to enhance the adhesion of nanofibers produced by electrospinning.

EDUC-WIDE Knowledge Exchange Scheme workshop for Micro and nanotechnology

Dušan Kováčik participated in the EDUC-WIDE Knowledge Exchange Scheme for Micro and nanotechnology workshop held at the Department of Microsystems, Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge in Norway. The workshop was aimed at exploring research collaboration opportunities with international research teams in the field of nanotechnology. Participants had the opportunity to visit the laboratories and learn about the instrumentation and technologies available at the department.
