At the end of the semester, the state doctoral exams took place, which concerned three of our doctoral students. František Zažímal, Leila Zahedi and Pedram Ghourchi Beigi managed them successfully. Several students successfully defended their bachelor thesis under the guidance of supervisors from our group. We said goodbye to Dr. Majka Kováčová, who completed her postdoc at MU in Brno (Postdoc2MUNI) at the end of June. Even before that, she presented the results of her research in the form of a lecture. And we ended the academic year informally with teambuilding at the Brno dam.

At the beginning of April, the Day with ERC, an event for junior researchers took place. The aim of the discussion meeting for junior scientists is networking. Dr. Jakub Kelar from the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology was nominated as a representative from the Faculty of Science.
Prof. Christoph Gerhard and his colleagues visited their project partners at the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and the CEPLANT Centre in the second week of April 2024. Scientists from the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/ Holzminden/ Göttingen and our research group are working together on the functionalization of fibers.
