Our PhD student Jianyu Feng won the Young Scientist Award last week for his oral presentation at the XX. International Conference on Plasma Physics and Applications (CPPA 2023) in Romania. The title of the lecture was Temperature-friendly remote atmospheric plasma source for plasma activation of materials (authors: J. Feng, R. Krumpolec, A. Jamaati Kenari, L. Zahedi, S. Sihelník, M. Stupavská, M. Černák, D. Kováčik ). Congratulations!
We are thrilled to share that our bilateral research project PlasmaMix-BioMat, in collaboration with esteemed colleagues from Slovenia – led by Sebastian Dahle and his team – has been officially supported by both the GAČR and ARIS funding agencies! Our team leader, Zlata Kelar Tučeková, along with Michal Pazderka, is currently in Slovenia for an in-person kick-off meeting to launch this promising cooperation.
Sandra Ďurčányová is a doctoral student from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University. She is on a research stay at DPPT and CEPLANT center of SCI MUNI with the support of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic. In Brno, she works with dr. Monika Stupavská. In her dissertation thesis, she researches plasma polymerization at atmospheric pressure. Using plasma, she deposits thin functional films made of hexamethyldisiloxane and investigates their properties.
